I recently attended an afternoon tea 'with a twist'. Chaiholics is a quaint little cafe situated on Wellfeild Rd in Cardiff, they pride themselves on sourcing and serving authentic teas. Their speciality teas are called Chai teas, they aim to serve the best quality teas and to encourage their customers to engage in their passion for authentic teas.
Without even considering the food and drink the cafe is really lovely, the deco and style of the place is very quaint and qwerky and the overall atmosphere is comfortable and very friendly. I would describe the deco as shabby chic, which I personally love! I think the deco represents the authenticity of the teas, and can sometimes make you feel like your drinking tea in a shabby cafe in Mumbai. Now on to the food!!! The afternoon tea was so different from anything I have had before, you usually you get a few little cucumber sandwiches some cream cakes, some scones and tea, this afternoon tea kept the authenticity of an afternoon tea by serving the latter but with a twist!
Choice of Speciality Pot of Organic/Single Origin Tea (We had a Himalayan Nilgiri tea)
Selection of Finger Sandwiches

The food was delicious and the tea...I would highly recommend especially if you like earl grey or green teas. The staff at Chaiholics are very helpful and friendly, as soon as our stand of treats arrived, a member of staff was at our side telling us everything about what we were about to eat. Our waiter also helped us a lot with choosing a tea, as there were a lot of names we did not recognise.
Me and my boyfriend were lucky enough to have this afternoon tea bought for us but if you plan on buying one yourself they go of £15 per person. They also do a lot of deals on Groupon so go check it out. I highly recommend this experience if you looking for a chilled out afternoon, a new experience, or simply just good food! Ruby x
