I Love Candles

Along with make up, candles are also an obsession of mine. I am obsessed, every time I go shopping it is NOT often that I come home without a candle related product. I think candles are amazing, they make a room feel like a home, they make an atmosphere and best of all they smell AMAZING! Up above is just a small part of my candle collection (there are a LOT more!)

Yankee Candles
Yankee Candle is one of the most popular brands of candles, and there is a clear reason for that. They come in so many flavours and sizes, some of my favourites above include: Honey & Spice, Beach Wood, Paradise Spice and Camomile Tea. Honey & Spice is by far my favourite, 'Golden nectar and sugar cane mingle with cinnamon stick and cocoa to create this gourmand concoction' and ooh my it is beautiful! If your looking to purchase some candles, Yankee Candle is the way to go.

TK Maxx Candles
In my mind TK Maxx is one of the best stores ever! You can find so many amazing things for such cheap prices and candles are some of those things. I recently picked up the huge, three wick candle at the back for just £4,99 along with a few other bargains. This particular candle is Amber & Honey flavour and it is dreamy, I also love the ceramic holder that it comes in that I'm already planning to reuse.

Oil Burner
Personally my oil burner is my favourite, the smell is so much stronger than a normal candle. If you've never used one before, this is how they work; you place a tea light in hole underneath and that heats the oil above to give off a wonderful smell. I have a discovered a few different things to put in the top; there is the obvious oil, this particular one is Pomegranate & Raspberry from the Body Shop. The Yankee Candle Melts are so easy to use and give of amazing smells for a very long time. But most interesting of all is the flavoured volcanic rock, I discovered this in a little shop in Bourton-on-the-Water. The rock heats and gives off a relatively strong smell, this particular one is a christmasy smell, Island Spice.

If you're not already a fan of candles give them a go...they are good for relaxing and calming yourself, great for the end of stressful days. Ruby x

  1. Lovely post Ruby!
It's interesting that our sense of smell (or our understanding of the signals and messages of fragrance) is housed in the oldest part of our brain, it has a powerful affect on our mood our memories and our general wellbeing. I know lots of people loathe the smell of Lavender, finding it fussy or 'old fashioned' but for me personally, it brings comfort and lovely memories of a much loved great gran. Good, naturally fragranced candles can do wonders for us all (we're huge advocates of the curl up with a good book, lights some candles and while away an afternoon or two!).
Have a wonderful (and fragrant filled!) weekend,
